How units work
Botox and Dysport are measured in units, and the number of units is what a treatment costs and what decides the result. A forehead might take a dozen units in one person and twice that in another with stronger muscles. Your injector assesses your muscle strength and how you use your face, then chooses a dose per area. The units of Botox and Dysport are not interchangeable: a Dysport dose is a larger number for the same effect, which is why prices per unit differ and why comparing clinics by price per unit alone is misleading.
Botox versus Dysport
Both products are the same type of medicine, botulinum toxin type A, and relax muscle the same way. The differences are small and your injector will usually pick for you. Dysport is formulated so it spreads a little more from each injection point, which some injectors prefer for broad areas such as the forehead, and some patients notice its effect a day or two sooner. Botox is dosed in fewer units and is the choice many injectors reach for in small, precise areas. Neither lasts meaningfully longer than the other in most people. If you have had one before and liked it, say so at your consultation.

What to expect at your first visit
Consultation
Your injector watches you raise your brows, frown and smile, asks what bothers you and what you want to keep, and recommends a dose per area. You get the price before anything is injected.
Treatment
Skin is cleaned, the injection points are marked, and the injections take a few minutes. Most patients describe each one as a quick pinch.
Right after
Small bumps at the injection points settle within the hour. Stay upright for a few hours, skip the gym and facials for the day, and do not rub the area.
Days 3 to 14
The muscles relax gradually. The full result shows at about two weeks, which is when we book a quick check if you want one.
Months 3 to 4
Movement returns gradually. Most patients rebook when they notice their lines coming back.
Is Botox right for you?
You are likely a good candidate if you:

Botox will not soften lines that are there when your face is at rest; those need resurfacing or filler. It is not used if you have a neuromuscular condition, an infection at the injection site, or a known allergy to the product. Your injector will go through your history at the consultation.
