EZ Gel under-eye rejuvenation

EZ Gel is an under-eye treatment made from a small sample of your own blood, processed into a smooth gel that carries your platelets, fibrin and growth factors and then injected under the eyes. It improves hollowing, fine lines, skin texture and overall brightness without a synthetic filler, with results that develop gradually as your skin rebuilds.

EZ Gel at a glance

An EZ Gel visit starts like a routine blood test: a small draw from the arm. While numbing cream works on the under-eye area, the sample is processed to concentrate the platelets, fibrin and growth factors and prepared into a gel. Your provider then injects it into the under-eye hollows. Expect mild swelling, tenderness or bruising for several days, then a gradual change over weeks as your own collagen responds.

What EZ Gel treats

Under-eye hollows

The gel adds gentle support to the hollow and prompts the thin skin over it to rebuild, so the trough softens without the puffiness synthetic filler can cause here.

Tired-looking eyes

Hollows cast shadows. Softening the hollow and thickening the skin brightens the area, which is the change most patients describe first.

Fine lines and crepey texture

The under-eye skin is the thinnest on the face and creases early. As it thickens, fine lines soften and the surface smooths.

Puffiness

Mild under-eye puffiness from thin, lax skin can improve as the skin firms. Puffiness caused by fat pads is a different problem, and the consultation will tell you which you have.

How EZ Gel works

A small amount of blood is drawn, similar to a routine blood test, and processed to concentrate the platelets, fibrin and growth factors. That concentrate is prepared into a smooth, gel-like consistency, which gives it enough body to support the hollow while the growth factors signal your skin to repair. Because everything injected came from you, there is no synthetic material in the skin and nothing foreign for the body to react to. The result builds as your natural healing and collagen production respond over the following weeks.

EZ Gel versus PDGF

Both rebuild the under-eye without synthetic filler, and Epic IV offers both. EZ Gel is made from your own blood and has a gel body that gives some immediate support. PDGF uses purified platelet-derived growth factors at a consistent concentration and works on the tissue alone. Patients who want everything to come from their own body choose EZ Gel; patients who want a standardised dose of growth factors choose PDGF. The consultation decides, and the two are not done in the same session.

Who performs your treatment

EZ Gel at Epic IV is prepared and injected by our registered nurses, after a clinician has looked at your under-eyes and agreed the plan with you. The clinic's medical director is Dr. Christine Rongey, MD.

What to expect

  1. Consultation

A clinician looks at the under-eye in good light, asks about previous filler and your history, and confirms EZ Gel is the right tool. You get the price first.

  2. Blood draw

A small sample from the arm, like a routine blood test.

  3. Processing and numbing

The sample is concentrated and prepared into a gel while numbing cream works on the under-eye.

  4. Injection

Your provider places the gel into the hollows with fine needles or a cannula.

  5. Days 1 to 7

Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising, improving over several days. Sleep with your head raised and skip heavy exercise for a day or two.

  6. Weeks 2 to 12

Gradual brightening and smoothing as your collagen responds.

Is EZ Gel right for you?

You are likely a good candidate if you:

  • Have under-eye hollows, shadows, fine lines or mild puffiness from thin skin
  • Want to avoid synthetic filler, or have had a poor result from filler under the eyes
  • Prefer a gradual, natural change over an instant one
  • Can allow several days for swelling and bruising to settle

Wait if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection or a cold sore flare near the area, have a blood or platelet disorder, or take a blood thinner you have not cleared with your doctor.

EZ Gel questions, answered

Anything this page does not answer, a clinician will at your free consultation.

What is EZ Gel under-eye treatment?

EZ Gel is an under-eye treatment made from a small sample of your own blood, processed into a gel of your platelets, fibrin and growth factors and injected into the hollows under the eyes. It improves hollowing, fine lines, texture and brightness without synthetic filler.

How long does EZ Gel take to show results?

The gel gives some support straight away, and the main change develops gradually over the following weeks as your natural healing and collagen production respond. Swelling and bruising usually settle within several days.

Does EZ Gel hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before the injections, and the blood draw feels like a routine blood test. Mild tenderness afterwards is normal and improves over a few days.

Is EZ Gel better than filler under the eyes?

For many people, yes, because it avoids the puffiness and blue tint synthetic filler can cause in thin under-eye skin and nothing foreign is injected. Filler is instant and EZ Gel is gradual, so the choice depends on your skin and your patience; the consultation will say which suits you.
