Chemical peels in Anaheim Hills
A chemical peel is a solution applied to the skin that loosens the dull outer layer so it sheds, leaving fresher, smoother skin underneath. Peels are used for dullness, uneven tone, rough texture and the flat marks old breakouts leave behind. At Epic IV they are performed by a registered nurse, after a free consultation.

Chemical peels at a glance
Peels range from light to deep. A light peel works on the very top layer and is the usual starting point. Stronger peels reach further and ask more of your skin while it recovers.
Which strength suits you depends on your skin type, your concern and how much flaking you can live with that week. Your clinician recommends one at the consultation.

What a chemical peel treats
Dullness
Skin that looks flat or tired. Clearing the build-up of dead cells leaves a smoother surface that reflects more light.
Uneven tone
Mild discoloration and blotchiness. For distinct sun spots, laser pigmentation correction may be the better tool.
Rough texture
Rough patches and fine surface lines soften as the outer layer renews.
Marks after breakouts
Flat marks that linger after a spot has healed. Raised or pitted acne scars usually need microneedling or a laser instead.
How a chemical peel works
The peel solution is applied to clean skin and left for a set time before it is removed. Afterwards the treated layer loosens and flakes away, and the new skin underneath is smoother and more even. A light peel may cause little more than dryness. A stronger one causes visible peeling.
New skin is more sensitive to the sun, so daily sunscreen after a peel is part of the treatment.

- Want brighter, smoother skin without needles or a laser
- Have dullness, uneven tone, rough texture or flat marks from old breakouts
- Can protect your skin from the sun afterwards
Your clinician will ask about your health, your medications and your skin history at the consultation, and will tell you if this is not the right treatment for you, or not the right time.
